写呈上启下句
如果不想单纯的写转折的连词，不如更加精妙地概括上文内容，又非常自然地引出下文内容。

写成别人观点或者“所谓的”事实
还有一种方法，可以把要被怼的对象，写成 some people 的想法，或者一些 it is true that 勉强承认的事实。因为，如果是我们真心全力支持的内容，一般直接说出来，而不会借别人的口来表达。
The claims made by those in favour of nuclear power do not stand up to close examination. It is often said, for example, that nuclear power does not damage the environment. While it is true that greenhouse gases are not produced, mining for uranium causes real damage to the environment. …
比如上面的这个段落，虽然说核能不破坏环境，不产生温室气体，但是，核心的内容其实在最后。前面的都是“铺垫”。既然这些优点要被踩在脚下，不如说成别人的一些想法，或者加上一些“通常来说“这样的套句。
换成让步从句
既然可以有“但是”，就可以说“虽然”。很多“虽然”意思的连词或者词组，在使用的时候，需要注意细节：despite/ in spite of/ notwithstanding 后面直接接名词或者名词词组，其他表达后面接一个完整的句子。
